Winner Chad Wienen Renames Loretta Lynn’s ‘Wienen’s Ranch’
8/13/2008Riders on Razrs blazed a path to the podium at Loretta Lynn’s, taking first and second place at the final ITP Tires/Moose Racing AMA/ATVA race of the season. After a tight battle, Chad Wienen claimed the Pro ATV victory, with series champ Dustin Wimmer in second place. The races were held August 9-10 at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
“I was just concentrating on the overall win out there,” Wienen told quad.transworld.net. “I’m the defending race winner here, so I was looking forward to the race. It feels great to get the monkey off my back and win again.”
Wimmer, who clinched the overall title with a victory two weeks earlier at the Red Bud MX, finished the series with 438 points - 67 points ahead of his nearest rival. Wimmer collected his $5000 Rider’s Championship prize at the Loretta Lynn’s event.
Maxxis dominated the overall top 20 at Loretta’s, with Doug Gust in fifth place and ninth through 12th places taken by, in order: Greg Gee, Jeremy Lawson, John Ragon and Josh Upperman. Jasmin Plante earned 15th place, with Cale Downen nabbing 16th. Sage Baker, Rocco Arno, Jr. and Jason Dunkelberger rounded out the top 20.
