Pawlak 3rd at Formula D Final Round
10/21/2008Justin Pawlak took third place in the final round of this year’s Formula Drift series, securing his place as a seeded driver for 2009. Pawlak’s performance also qualified him for the Formula Drift World Finals, scheduled for November 15-16 in his hometown of Long Beach, California.
Pawlak scored his spot on the podium by besting Taka Aono in the Great 16 and Robbie Nishida in the Great 8. His Round 7 finish capped a season of strong performances, including victories at Formula Drift’s Drifting Mexico invitational and the regular season Round 3.
“It was definitely a great way to end the season,” said Pawlak. “I appreciate all the help that Maxxis has given me. I’m looking forward to the World Finals.”
Pawlak praised the performance of his MA-Z1 Drifts: “They worked awesome like usual. They helped me put the power to the ground and gave me the control I needed to get a podium at Irwindale.”
