Ockerman Wins GNCC XC2 Title
10/09/2008After winning 8 of the season’s first 11 races, Donnie Ockerman has locked up the GNCC ATV XC2 Pro Am championship. With 278 points to date, he is 98 points ahead of his nearest rival.
Ockerman clinched his title with an XC2 win at GNCC Unadilla, held September 27 in New Berlin, New York. “It went real well,” he said of the race. “I got the holeshot. We had decided to take off and get right out front and give it all you’ve got. We were first in the first two laps and wound up sixth overall.”
“It feels pretty good,” said Ockerman of his championship. “We’ve worked pretty hard to get there.”
Ockerman, who runs the Razr2 in the front and the Razr in the rear, praised the performance of his Maxxis tires: “I’ve actually run different tires years ago, and the Razr just outdoes all the other tires in all conditions. Sometimes when it’s muddy, I’ll run the iRazr in the rear.”
Harry Tripp, assistant manager of the specialty department, lauded Ockerman’s achievement: “It’s been a pleasure watching Donald climb the ranks in the GNCC series. Every year he improves, and he’ll be a contender for the Pro title in 2009.”
Maxxis is proud to sponsor Donald Ockerman and congratulates him on his championship.
